Cooker Hoods FAQs

  • How to clean my Cooker Hood?

First, turn off the hood and remove the metal grease filters. Pour boiling water into a basin, then add approximately ¼ cup of baking soda and swish around with a brush until you see bubbles. Next, submerge the filters into the basin, making sure that they are completely covered. After a 10-minute soaking, take a non-abrasive scrub brush and scrub the filters. Rinse the filters thoroughly in hot water and let them dry before putting them back in the cooker hood. Some models of Electrolux hoods have helpful functions to reduce your cleaning time. For example, Power Boost function helps to create a maximum airflow of up to 1300m3/h to minimize the cleaning time.

When cleaning the Electrolux Cooker Hood, please note that the cooker hoods have multiple filters. Some models have 3 filters while others have 5. Besides, some models operate with an activated carbon filter to control and remove unpleasant odours. Therefore, you need to check and read carefully the information about the model you are using to ensure that the appliance is cleaned thoroughly and properly.

  • How to install the Cooker Hood?

Cooker Hood installation service is often included when you purchase new appliances from Electrolux. However, you can choose to install the hood yourself by following the manufacturer's instructions.

  • What is the ideal distance between the hob and the hood?

For best results, your hood should be placed between 650mm and 750mm above your hob.

  • What are the benefits of installing a hood in the kitchen?

Cooker hoods are designed to remove gases, odours, and heat and steam from the kitchen. Some cooker hood benefits include improving air quality and removing excess heat. Most Electrolux hoods come with multi-layer grease filters to ensure maximum grease filtration and cleaner kitchens. Another key feature of Electrolux hoods is the Smoke and Vapour sensor, which automatically detects smoke and steam when you're cooking.

Cooker hoods also provide additional lighting, which may come in handy when you're preparing complex dishes. A cooker hood also helps prevent grease build-up, making after-dinner cleanup easier.

  • How to replace the hood filter and where to buy a new filter?

To replace a hood filter, it is advisable to contact the manufacturer to get the appropriate filter for your hood. Please note that some models of Electrolux hoods have 3 layers of grease filters, while others have 4 or 5 layers of filters.
